Fiona Sinclair relies on only herself. She learned a hard lesson as a child that she has no wish to repeat. She has a lot of anger towards her sister Moira, whom she feels abandoned her years ago after her parents were murdered. She loves the MacDougal's who raised her as their own and has learned all they have taught her about her Druids powers over the years. Fiona knows she has power over water. When a stranger appears to take her away, she knows she has found her mate and that her journey is just about to begin.
Gregor MacLachlan is a strong Highlander who is torn about his past and the choices he has made. He is on a mission to return Fiona to MacInnes Castle to her family before the MacNeil and the Shadow try to kill her. He knows he doesn't have alot of time, but tries to give Fiona enough time to say goodbye and adjust herself to meeting her family again. His past comes to haunt him, when the MacNeil shows up at his father's clan with a plan to draw them out of hiding. With Fiona's help he manages to save his parents and learn that he was forgiven long ago for an accident that wasn't his fault.
Fiona and Gregor both had demons they had to face in order for them both to accept their destiny. They both had a part to fulfill in the prophecy. As the prophecy grows nearer to completion the MacNeil andt he evil Shadow provided interesting twists and turns in this book as he revealed himself and what his plans were.
Donna Grant draws you into a story and leaves you wanting more. Gregor and Fiona's story is full of emotion, danger and passionate love scenes as they finally admit what they mean to one another. They learned to face their pasts in order for them to have a future together. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. I love that we will be seeing these characters again soon in August.
